Town of Sturgis, Saskatchewan

Bucking Horse and Rider Designed by: Mervin Prychak of M & S Concrete Ornaments (Wynyard, SK)

When Built: May 30, 1990 Dimensions: Lifesize Construction Materials: Rebar frame, fibreglass shell and a steel plate on the bottom to allow for mounting. Location: Along Highway #49, next to Seniors Centre. In Rodeo Falls Park.

Reason for Building:

Sturgis is home to Saskatchewan's Largest One Day Sports and Rodeo. To commerate this day, the Town had a statue built.

Additional Information:

The project cost $16,000 to build, including delivery. The project commenced in October 1989.

Mervin Prychak also created the Goose in Quill Lake, SK and the Whooping Crane in Govan, SK.
