The monument was built as an attraction in front of the Irving Oil

Additional Information:

That is the photographer's friend Matt under the Fox.

In the early 1900's Salisbury and area became well known for its Silver Fox farms.

There are statues in front of other Irving Stations throughout the Maritimes including: Moose in Goobies, Nfld, Moose in Deer Lake, Nfld, Deer in Plaster Rock, NB, Cows in Sussex, NB, and Blueberry in Oxford, NS.
