"Project during Forestry Capital of Canada in 1991."
Axe was conceived by the Forestry Capital committee to be a permanent reminder of Nackawic's special status as Forestry Capital of Canada.
Bronze Plaque on the Axe reads in part: "symbolizes the importance of the forest industry, past, present and future, to the Town of Nackawic and the Province of New Brunswick."
The "stump" in which it is embedded serves as a small stage. There is a time capsule in the head of the axe.
