Drumheller, Alberta is world famous for its fossil finds. The City's Royal Tyrrell Museum features some Brian Cooley outdoor statues but what this page showcases is the works of Trygve (Tig) Seland . [Note: The Smileasaurus Banana Eater and Shysasaurus Jelly Bean Eater are more likely the creations of Murray Olsen].
Seland built about 30 monuments that were featured in a tourist park called Prehistoric Park. It was located in the hills southwest of town. There was a 30 Foot (9.1 Metre) statue of Jesus amongst the dinosaurs (see the very bottom of this page). This park was closed approximately seven years ago. The dinosaur statues were taken from there and placed throughout the community (the Jesus statue was left in its original location). Here are some photos of these dinosaurs along with some postcards of these dinosaurs in their "natural" habitat. See a larger picture by clicking on the photo.
