Piggy Bank of Coleman, Alberta

It is made from an old train engine, a 36-inch gauge air-driven 0-4-0 "thermos bottle" locomotive. It was used at one time to pull coal cars in the mines, most likely the International Coal and Coke Co. Mine which is located on the other side of the River from downtown Coleman. "This is Ten Ton Toots, know to miners as a "Dinky". From 1904 to 1954, Toots hauled five million tons of coal to daylight over 180,000 miles of underground tracks. Toots is a 7 X 7 X 14 compound air locamotive, using compressed air at 800 pounds pressure to pull up to 200 ton loads."
